ANOTHER CRACK BETWEEN ISRAEL AND THE WORLD

GERMAN MINISTER BARRED FROM GAZA VISIT

German Development Aid Minister Dirk Niebel

This is a significant event because Germany is "the enforcer" for Israel. It is in Germany that most Holocaust "deniers" are sent for trial and treated most severely. Israel also extorts an indecent amount of "blood libel" from Germany monthly for its part in the Second World War. Merkl has been Israel's greatest supporter in the NWO, short of Canada's Harper and American GW Bush and now Obama. It is to be hoped the German people begin to see these cracks and act upon them. Once again, Israel shoots itself in the foot and will most likely find a reason, inane of course, for its behaviour. We can only hope it is REALLY inane...

'Sometimes the Israeli government does not make it easy for its friends to explain why it behaves the way it does,' Niebel told the German ZDF TV network program “heute” (today).

German Development Aid Minister Dirk Niebel was denied entry into the besieged Gaza Strip in order to inspect a sewage plant financed by Germany, German officials said Saturday evening.

A ministry spokesman said talks had continued to the last moment with Israeli officials over Niebel's aim to visit the Palestinian areas.

Niebel, who arrived in Israel earlier Saturday, had hoped to visit a sewage treatment plant, being financed with German development aid, during his current visit to Israel.

Speaking on the second German TV network ZDF program"heute" (today) Saturday evening, Niebel expressed his anger about being denied entry.

"I would have wished for a clear political signal would be sent for an opening and for transparency," said Niebel, of Germany's liberal Free Democratic Party (FDP).

Plainly furious, he also gave an interview to his local paper saying that Israel's latest announcement on easing the Gaza blockade was "not sufficient" and that Israel must "now deliver" on its pledge.

Beyond that, Israel should be “clear” about how, within an international context, it wants to “cooperate with its friends in the future as well,” the German minister of the liberal Free Democratic Party said.

Earlier Saturday, the daily Sueddeutsche Zeitung reported that the German parliament, with the support of German Chancellor Angela Merkel’s government as well as the opposition Social Democrats (SPD) and the Green Party, is to issue a cross-party demand that Israel allow the passage of humanitarian aid into the Gaza Strip by sea.

"The living conditions for the civil population in Gaza must urgently be improved," the motion reportedly stated.

"Israel's Gaza blockade is effectively a blockade of the United Nations," the Greens' foreign spokeswoman Kerstin Mueller told the Sueddeutsche Zeitung, adding: "This is unacceptable."

Mueller said Israel had to give the United Nations sea access to Gaza, so aid could be delivered "quickly and unbureaucratically."

The motion reportedly calls upon the EU's foreign policy chief Catherine Ashton to facilitate negotiations between Israel and the UN.

Earlier in the week, Israel decided to ease the blockade ~ which intensified after Hamas took control of the Strip in June 2007 ~ following international uproar over the May 31 Israeli navy attack on a flotilla of unauthorized aid to the Gaza strip, which left nine activists dead.

Referring to the loosening of the blockade that the Israeli government recently announced, Niebel said, “if the Israeli government expects support for its new Gaza strategy, it must first of all ensure more transparency and for a new partnership.”

He said the blockade, which is aimed at preventing Hamas members in the Gaza Strip from obtaining weapons and materials to build rockets which are fired over the border into Israel, was not a sign of strength.

Rather, he said, it was, “proof of unspoken fear.” And he urged the Israeli government not to let the clock run out on the remaining opportunity for peace talks.

“It is five to twelve for Israel,” he said.
